Intermedia Performance1992

An intermedia performance exploring relationships between a performer’s movements and vocalizations and their effects on lighting and sound.

Custom software built with the Max programming environment, recognized vocal pitch ranges and patterns to enable a dancer to generate MIDI events triggered by vocalizations. Custom hardware devices enabled the dancer to generate MIDI events through manipulation of tactile sensors. The MIDI events were processed by computers to control lighting and sound cues.
