Tubae Mundi
An abstract dance film inspired by mandala patterns used in cultural traditions around the world, presented at the United Nations and other international venues.
The video imagery for Tubae Mundi originated with improvised dance footage choreographed by Lisa Naugle and filmed in a green screen studio. Director John Crawford used digital media processes to transform this footage into abstract movement sequences derived from dance. The music by composer Dinu Ghezzo incorporates samples from Tibetan and Byzantine prayers, Indian ragas, Gregorian chants, Islamic calls to prayer from Turkey and Romanian Christmas carols, all interwoven with live music and electronic sounds from the studio. This work explores the concepts of “one into many” and “many into one.” It is dedicated to compassion, peace and harmony for all beings.
